Privacy Policy

Last updated May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Coreola ("we", "our") handles personal information collected through https://www.coreola.com and the products and services offered there (the "Service").

We aim to keep this short, honest, and free of fine print. Coreola is a small operation. We collect the minimum data needed to sell and support Coreola, and we do not sell, rent, or share customer data beyond what is required to run the business.

What we collect

We collect personal information in three contexts:

1. When you purchase

Purchases are processed through Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. Creem collects your name, email address, billing address, country, and payment-method details on our behalf. We receive only the order summary (name, email, country, license tier, order ID). We do not see or store full payment-method details.

Creem's own privacy practices are described at creem.io/legal/privacy.

2. After purchase

To grant access to the private Coreola source repository, we collect your GitHub username and add it as a collaborator. Your GitHub username is stored in our customer records alongside your order ID.

3. Email contact

When you email us at info@coreola.com, support@coreola.com, or via any contact form on the site, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use that information only to respond to you.

4. Site analytics

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible or Fathom) to count page views and broad referral sources. These tools do not use cookies, do not fingerprint individual visitors, and do not collect personally identifiable information.

How we use your information

  • To deliver Coreola after purchase
  • To grant and manage access to the source repository
  • To respond to questions, support requests, and license inquiries
  • To send product updates (bug fixes, new versions, breaking changes) — strictly transactional, never marketing
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax records, etc.)

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

Third parties we share data with

The only third parties that process personal data on our behalf:

  • Creem — merchant of record; processes purchase, billing, and tax data.
  • GitHub — hosts the private source repository to which paid customers are granted access.
  • Email provider — used to send license keys, updates, and support replies.
  • Analytics — anonymous page-view counts only, as described above.

We do not share your data with any third party other than the processors listed above, except where required by law.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking cookies. We store one preference in your browser's localStorage — your theme choice (light or dark) — so the site remembers it between visits. No personal data is stored client-side.

Data retention

Customer records (order ID, email, GitHub username, license tier) are kept for the lifetime of the license and for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically seven years).

Support emails are retained for up to two years after the last interaction, then deleted unless you've requested earlier deletion.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the EU GDPR and similar regimes), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to tax-retention requirements)
  • Object to processing or request portability
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact info@coreola.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

Children

Coreola is sold to professional software developers and is not directed to children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to active license holders.
